MCP server
One line. It runs on your computer.
dataready is an MCP server that runs on your computer, inside your app's folder. It reads your app, builds its synthetic community there and keeps everything in .dataready/. From us it fetches only the personas and the know-how. Your coding agent does the thinking and the walking.
Illustration: a little agent carries a clipboard from your page to the crowd and back.
Install
npx -y dataready-mcp
Needs Node.js 22.13 or newer. The first time you use it, it opens a sign-in page in your browser. Type your email, click the link we send (or type the six-digit code from the same mail), and confirm. No password, no account to manage. The sign-in is kept in your user settings folder; your app's data stays in .dataready/ in your project.
claude mcp add dataready -- npx -y dataready-mcp
Add -s project to write .mcp.json for your whole team. Then say map my app; the first time, it opens a sign-in page.
{"mcpServers":{"dataready":{"command":"npx","args":["-y","dataready-mcp","--root","/path/to/your/app"]}}}
Settings → Developer → Edit config. Put your app's folder after --root, then restart Claude Desktop.
{"mcpServers":{"dataready":{"command":"npx","args":["-y","dataready-mcp"]}}}
Save the file in your project; Cursor tells dataready which folder it is working in.
codex mcp add dataready -- npx -y dataready-mcp
Or in ~/.codex/config.toml: [mcp_servers.dataready] with command = "npx" and args = ["-y", "dataready-mcp", "--root", "/path/to/your/app"].
{"mcpServers":{"dataready":{"command":"npx","args":["-y","dataready-mcp","--root","/path/to/your/app"]}}}
Settings → Cascade → MCP servers → View raw config, paste, put your app's folder after --root, refresh.
{"mcpServers":{"dataready":{"command":"npx","args":["-y","dataready-mcp","--root","/path/to/your/app"]}}}
MCP Servers → Configure → paste, with your app's folder after --root.
On Windows, use "command": "cmd" with "args": ["/c", "npx", "-y", "dataready-mcp", …]. Needs Node.js 22.13 or newer.
Quick check of a public page, no install
The walk and panel tools below also run on our quick-check server. Add it as a connector if you only want to test a public page:
Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector

Just ask
Things you can say
No commands to learn. Say it in your own words, in any language; your agent picks the right tool.
| You say | What happens |
|---|---|
test my page as a skeptical CFO | One person walks your page and you get their verdict and a report link. |
test my landing page with 20 EU founders | A panel: twenty matching people, one combined report. |
would people buy this? | A panel with a mixed audience. |
find skeptical buyers on mobile | Searches the crowd and lists matching people. |
show me dr-0042 | The full profile of one person. |
give me the report link | The link and access code of your latest test. |
propose an agent | A short interview, then your person goes to review. |
was my agent approved? | The status of your proposal. |
map my app | Reads your app on your computer and writes its profile: screens, plans, paywalls, key events. |
show me the dashboard | A private page on your computer with your app's profile. |
help | What dataready can do, and how to start. |
Prefer slash commands? /dataready:test, /dataready:panel, /dataready:agents, /dataready:propose, /dataready:report and /dataready:help do the same.
Under the hood
The tools, in plain words
On your computer: app_profile_extract, app_profile_set, work_submit, dataready_status, dashboard_url, sign-in and help. For a quick check of a public page, on the quick-check server:
dataready_helpTells your agent which tool fits what you said.
dataready_agents_searchFinds people in the crowd by words or filters: market, industry, device, skepticism.
dataready_agent_getOne person's full profile.
dataready_walk_briefThe brief for one person on one page: who they are, what to do, what to answer.
dataready_walk_submitTakes their answers back, scores them and writes the report page.
dataready_panel_startPicks a varied group of 3 to 50 people for an audience and hands out the briefs.
dataready_panel_submitCollects the panel's answers in batches and builds the combined report.
dataready_reportGives you back the link and access code of a test.
dataready_agent_proposeSends a new person to review.
dataready_proposal_statusPending, approved or not taken.
Your data
What we see, and what we never see
We never see
Your code, your files, your passwords, your app's profile or its community: dataready reads your app on your computer and keeps the results there, in .dataready/. The page is opened by your own agent, with its own tools. We tell it never to type real personal data, never to pay and never to log in with real credentials.
We keep, briefly
Your sign-in email, and a counter of know-how downloads. For quick checks on the quick-check server: the persona answers and the tested address (without its query string) for seven days, so the report page works. Report pages are private: you need the access code, which we also email to you.
Only if you ask
If your tool has no browser, ask for a text snapshot: we read the public page once and pass its text to your agent. Nothing from it is stored.
Fair use
Up to 200 single walks and 10 panels an hour per account, panels of up to 50 people. Plenty for real work, not enough for abuse.
